Folding Fan(Sensu)
We commissioned about 300 years old fan-shop Hakuchikudo from Kyoto to make fans using cloth from real koinobori windsocks.
Expert fan craftsmen carefully create each fan ensuring the best possible product display the koinobori patterns in the best possible way.
Koinobori windsocks, based on an ancient legend stating that carp who can climb the “Ryumon” waterfall become dragons, are symbols of growth and success. The stronger the wind, the harder they swim, making them a symbol for fighting through adversity. These many meanings make them a valued gift.
Enjoy the strong impression you will make when you open out this folding fan. They are won-derful products perfect for appreciating Japanese tradition which are also highly appreciated by visitors from overseas.
