Tenugui
Tenugui is a thin Japanese towel. This item has an original design featuring an auspicious symbol, koinobori.
There is an ancient legend that says carps who can overcome adversities become dragons. The design is related to this auspicious legend, Toryumon Densetsu.
The character 昇 means rising and the other one 鯉 means carp. The pronunciation of the word 昇鯉 is same as 勝利(=success, victory) in Japanese, so the meaning of this word is auspicious.
Koinobori in kumadori makeup (which is used for the Japanese traditional perfoming arts, kabuki) is highly impressive.
“Coloring book koinobori” can be painted by itself. And connect the ends to from a cylinder, you can make only one original koinobori in the world.
This item can be an interior decoration. By putting two pieces of tenugui together, you can make a Japanese door curtain, noren.
